Biography

Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Marybeth Kerr and I was born and raised in Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania. As an alumnus of Northern Cambria High School, I am proud to be a resident of this town and the beautiful landscape surrounding it. Consequently, I constantly strive to improve my surrounding environment, whether that involves protecting the natural ecosystems or providing education and awareness to the members of my community. This passion for the natural world and my own community led me to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Biology from Waynesburg University. I also had the opportunity to study my final year at the University of North Carolina Wilmington where I gained hands on experience working with marine life. After working for a time in an environmental laboratory, I realized that I wanted to share my love of science with new and open minds. After obtaining my education degree, I was offered a full time job here in my home district. Over the years here at Northern Cambria, I have also obtained my Master's Degree in education which has broadened my experience in this field.

I have taught many science subjects here at Northern Cambria including Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Anatomy/Physiology, and Marine Biology. I have also coached Track & Field here at NC, and I am the current advisor for the school's Envirothon Team. I am extremely passionate about the sciences and I am continuously excited to share this knowledge and wonder with new students during each school year.
